Not really.
But the guy who was teaching me to blow glass shut down the studio last fall and I haven't been blowing since.
It's depressing.
I finally find a medium a love... I adore... I crave... and it's one of the most expensive mediums I can think of.
I watch some of the glass blowers on DA and am jealous. I think several are in art school with studios. That would be nice.
The school I went to had a low budget art program, and I was too chicken to think about it. So I went to school to be a social worker. Brilliant.
I've talked to several glass blowers in the area about apprenticeships and no luck. I was offered studio time for rent, which may be my last hope, but I don't want just studio time next to some pot-smoking Ashevillian hippy. I would actually like someone to learn with/from.
I know I was really lucky to get an apprenticeship, and I WILL have a studio of my own when we move up north. I'd just like to learn to be a decent blower before I invest in a studio.
